Who we are
Code Kings is an independent software studio in Cape Town, South Africa. For anything in this notice, send us a message through the form at codekings.dev/start.
What we collect
What you type into the enquiry form or the scope builder: your name, email address, company, phone number if you add one, and whatever you tell us about your project, budget and timing. We also note which page you sent it from and how you found the site (for example a search engine or a link we shared).
If you use the site score tool, the web address you enter is sent to Google PageSpeed Insights to run the test. We don't store it.
The live demo and your light or dark mode choice are saved in your own browser. That data never reaches us, and you can clear it at any time.
We count visits with our own simple analytics: which pages are viewed, which buttons are clicked, the site that sent you, your rough location (country) and whether you're on a phone or a computer. There are no cookies and no advertising trackers. Your IP address is turned into an anonymous code that changes every day and is never stored, so we can't tell who you are. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs to run and protect the site.
How we use it
Only to reply to you, understand your project and prepare a proposal. We never sell your details or add you to a mailing list without asking.
Who helps us
Web3Forms delivers form submissions to our inbox. Supabase stores enquiries and the visit counts in a database hosted in London. Vercel hosts the site. Google runs the site score test when you choose to use it. Each handles data under its own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Enquiries: for as long as we're talking about or working on a project together. After that we delete them, or sooner if you ask. Visit counts don't identify anyone, so we keep them to see how the site is doing over time.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or have it deleted. Send the request through the form at codekings.dev/start and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
